Do you accept insurance?
BCBS is currently accepted by most all of our clinicians. A few of our clinicians are also in network with Aetna, Cigna, Cofinity and Medicare.
We will bill on your behalf, but it is the patient’s responsibility to confirm with their insurance company what will be covered and what copays and coinsurance will be.
Dr. Sally Palaian does not currently accept insurance for new patients.
Positive Self Center does not accept insurance for Couples Counseling.
How often are the sessions?
Psychotherapy, or “talk” therapy, is most effective when done in a consistent manner, so most often psychotherapy sessions are once weekly or twice each month. That said, we are flexible and can personalize a schedule that works best for you.
Who does the Positive Self Center serve?
Our practice serves individuals, couples, and groups. We work with people from all walks of life regardless of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, physical or mental ability, veteran status, military obligations, and marital status.
What can I expect from the Positive Self Center?
You can expect confidentiality, safety, and support from us. We adhere to strict ethical principles of licensed mental health professionals. We will help you to create meaning in your life. We will honor our time together and commit to working through the specific issues and concerns that are troubling you.
What hours are you available?
The Positive Self Center is open Monday – Friday, 9am – 7pm, by appointment only. We offer daytime and evening sessions. Please call to schedule an appointment. If we are in session or out of the office, you will receive our voice mail. Please leave a brief message, and we will return all messages as soon as possible, typically within 48 hours. First-time appointments are typically scheduled within one week of the initial call or sooner if needed. If you are calling about a psychiatric emergency, call 911.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
If you do not show up for your scheduled counseling appointment and you have not notified us at least 48 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
